My holiday
Got nothing to blog about. So, I’ll write bout my holiday 2 weekends ago. My family (except my 2nd sis) and I left for Penang on a Friday after my big sis’s work. So, we reached the ferry in Penang only at about 11pm. Since it was so late at night, the ferry trips aren’t so frequent. We waited a while for the ferry. When we got on the ferry…it started to rain so the ferry did not start moving. By the time we reached the hotel…I think it was around 12am.
The next morning we had breakfast at Pulau Tikus. Then, headed to my uncle’s house. The main reason we were in Penang was to attend my cousin’s wedding. When we reached my uncle’s house, one of my cousins was about to leave for the bride’s house. So, they bundled me and my big sis into the car as well. It took almost an hour to drive to the bride’s house in Butterworth (plus the time we got lost). We didn’t do much at the bride’s house. Just watched the bride and bridegroom (my cousin) come out of the house, walk around the car, then go back in again. I guess it’s part of the wedding ceremony. Then, went back to my uncle’s house and had lunch there.
At night, we arrived at the dinner quite late cos we overslept but the dinner hadn’t started yet. During the dinner, I kept admiring the cute little small 3-year old son of my cousin (same one that I was in the car with). The boy is so adorable. When his mum asked him to put the peace sign when the camera guy came…he really did it…and he looked so cute doing that. =P Then, balloons for decoration were brought down from the entrance ‘door’ and distributed to the small kids. The small boy at my table got a big orange one. It was sooo big….I’m not a fan of balloons. Of course here and there we could hear balloons bursting. Suddenly the orange balloon burst and the poor boy started crying. I think cos the balloon was right near his face and he felt the pain. That’s why I don’t like balloons. Haha…poor boy looked so adorable even when he was crying. I couldn’t help laughing. =P Another reason that small kids are cute is that they can be laughing with joy one minute and then crying the next moment AND then laughing the next. =P
Anyway, the next morning we left for Pedu Lake in Kedah. This place is so isolated; there was no line for all our handphones. There was not even any makan shops nearby except for the hotel ‘restaurants’ la. At night it rained so heavily that we couldn’t go anywhere cos we stayed in chalets. Haha…so stayed in the chalet watching tv. Thank God for the existence of Astro there. They had most of the channels that are not available at home namely Disney Channel and Star Movies. That night we watched a movie called Wrong Turn. I have seen it before in the cinema. The girl actor is the same as the Tru Calling girl if I’m not mistaken.
The next day, spent the morning exploring the place. There were not many activities there cos the water level in the lake is low and most of their activities are water associated. Then we had lunch in the hotel’s restaurant. The food there was EXPENSIVE. Fish and chips, nasi + rendang chicken and spaghetti cost RM18 each. And, fried rice cost RM15. But the food was quite a lot la…more than normally we eat wan. Most worth is the fish and chips. It was quite a gigantic piece. Oh…and the only other customers there was a foreign couple whom, if I’m not mistaken, checked in about the same time as us. This goes to show how MANY customers the whole resort has.
At night, it was raining heavily again…so watched tv again. =P First time I watched 3 movies in a row!! First, some show called Glow, then Sister Act then Sister Act 2. The good thing bout Star Movies is that they don’t have advertisements….so I didn’t fall asleep during the non-existent advertisements.
Next morning, packed as quickly as possible and left for home. Home sweet home.
