09/10 vacation...
As usual, I have deserted my blog for a few months now. What brought me back here was my internship. Cos I had a task to create a little something like a blog...not as complicated as it la just a simple one nia, so I turned to blogger for reference. :p So here I am...actually I wanted to start writing probably one week ago but didn't have the time and energy for it...until today when I updated the Capoeira blog then only I felt the urge to write here again haha...
K let's not drone on about what brought me back here. But, where should I start from now. Well, I'm currently doin my 2nd internship (yea...lots of ppl ask me how many I wanna do) and I have 3 and a half more weeks to go. I don't regret at all taking this internship as I really am learning a lot compared to my first one when I learned nothing except how to occupy my time with facebook. I guess it's good that I experience life in a big company (1st intern) and now a small company. Personally, I feel that internships are good in the sense that you get to gauge and experience whether you want to do this kind of job in the future. In some internships, you might also have the opportunity to secure a permanent job when you graduate next time. Actually, they have asked me if I will join them next year and I'll seriously be considering it. But, as Aswin says...you can't predict the future haha... :p
This whole "vacation" is the busiest vacation I've ever had. I can count the number of free weekends that I had. On one way, it's a good thing as it means I won't waste my time sitting and doing nothing in the room haha...but on another angle, I don't have time for myself. But, I'm not complaining. Every weekend spent with loved ones and friends or just doing something useful is really something to be treasured. Towards the end of my "vacation", I gotta start planning my modules...omg...I haven't... :( O well still got time hopefully. But, I'm really looking forward to the end of July cos home is awaiting...o boy o boy...absolutely can't wait for it...home is the best place to be... :p

Finally, after a long wait, we had our first IHG game tonite. RH girls were against TH. Well, we did not expect to win at all. So winning one game through Ying Xi in the singles should be quite an achievement by itself already. She did great btw. Hui Yi also at least gave a good fight againt their 3rd singles who was very extremely stupid but not that accurate.
Personally, I think the other 3 games, we under-performed including me of course. I would say that I totally could not play a normal game against the TH girls. According to my team mates, they were simply too fast and too experienced to fight with them. But, it doesn't matter whether they are experienced or anything, I had hoped to at least give a good fight but obviously could just not rally with them. From the beginning, I was pretty tensed and kind of loosened up later but probably not enough. Mistakes after mistakes just kept going on... Oh well, this is how competitions is like, I'm just not fit enough for these. I will respect everyone involved and hope that others do the same... Hope that we can do much better for the next game.
The game aside, I know I've been pretty tensed this whole week. Probably it's everything put together: projects, badminton, people. I just don't feel good. Sometimes I want to talk to people but there's just noone around. Sometimes I don't want to talk but everyone is there. Yea I'm confused myself too. I dunno what I want at a lot of moments. Difficult me...sigh... :( But life's just this way isn't it? Even facebook is breaking down on me...

It feels like the weekend is here already since my Fridays are free (hopefully it stays this way...though I doubt I can keep it free). The first week into the 2nd semester of my third year (boy do I feel old) is pretty slack for me considering the total number of hours of lectures I had was pretty minimal. Even weeks won't be as slack though and when labs and projects start, I wonder how much time I will have left for myself. Out of the 5 modules I'm taking, 4 has group projects whereby 3 are 5-ppl group and 1 is an 8 person group. Personally, I hate having to form groups because it's either I have too many ppl or noone taking the same module with me. However, generally I would say that the group formation has been going alright for the moment. Except for my "Animal Behaviour" module which I'm taking alone and I'm js waiting for the lecturer to assign me to some strangers. Hopefully I'll be able to work well with whoever they are.
Overall, lectures for this week has been quite lightweight. The modules that I'm taking are all pretty interesting sounding (at least for the beginning it is...) except for EE3001 which is a biz-like module and is a requirement for all ECE students. After "6 hours of lecture" I have no idea how we are supposed to really carry it out. Hopefully my group mates will help me through it. Other than the core, I'm taking 3 other electives. 1 design module EE4415 which is actually about designing integrated circuits. It's quite lab intensive (30%) according to the lecturer. Hope I can pull through this 40-student class. EE4210 which is CCN 2 should be an interesting module as it is more about networking and stuff that I had expected to learn when I applied for CPE. Personally, I feel it's more current to the technology in the world now instead of learning about the basic transistors and so on. But then again, we probably need the basics to learn the advanced rite? Another elective I'm taking is CS2102 which is database management. I was kind of forced to take CS after a sem trying to avoid it. Honestly, I don't exactly know what a database is and hopefully I'll know after I go through this sem then.
Enough about studies. Hall stuff...there's been a lot of new faces around hall since now the "freshies" are in already. So, the comm hall is back to its original queues and hustle and bustle which is kinda weird. After last sem, we kinda got used to the peaceful surroundings in hall. But o well, most importantly, Swee Yee and Ee Hiang are back and they are just staying a floor below me hahahaha...
I wonder if it's Shu Lin's influence but I can't help not being influenced by her chanting of "keep fit keep fit". Anyway, cos of her, I have been going swimming a couple of times. Also, I've been on the look out for exercise classes. We are currently looking for the Yoga class and if it's suitable we might join. Another sport that I would like to join is Capoeira. Actually, I've wanted to join that since Year 1 but didn't really get to it. I went for the welcome tea yesterday and it was pretty fun. It's a dance + fight thingy. It's quite cool learning new stuff and a bit different from Taekwondo or should I say a lot different. It's nice to see the seniors/professionals sparring/playing. They make it look damn cool with half acrobatics stunts here and there. I wonder how long will it be before I can do that though. O well, I'm still pondering on it now...c how first la...
