My Story

I feel very drowsy today. I dunno y. Even yesterday I wasn't in the study mood even though I had plenty of free time in my hands. Well today must not don't study. I must study tonight!

I had my first "job" with tech today. So blur when go there. Although we learnt how to setup the system on Sunday, but today when see all the wires....oh shit...what to what already? Haha...had to ask la...and felt myself so un-pro and slow. Guess it's alright since it's my first time. Even when I sat at the mixer I didn't really 'play' around with it cos for one, didn't feel there was really a necessary need to increase or decrease volume. Also, scared will screw up and cause feedback la. Later, at debrief, Giap and Freddy said must screw up big time wan these things. Then, only will remember next time haha. Well, next time must play more and must make my ears more sensitive...very important to learn how to balance the sounds. Hopefully, will improve next time haha.

Well, better start to study...not much time liao...arghhh....

Another week is coming to an end. Look back at the week and I ask myself, what have I achieved...other than "overachieving" my number of badminton matches...studies wise I can't say I can be proud of myself. Progress has been really slow I don't know why. Maybe it's cos I can take the whole night to solve one whole tutorial of Maths...just 4 -5 hours trying to solve it...and 1 -2 more hours asking friends how to do. Gosh...and that also I wonder if anything is commited into my memory. Have I been working hard enough? But, there's just that many hours in a day...I can't possibly be studying 24/7...make use of the maximum free hours that I have? Ya...I find that I "study" almost everytime I'm in the room...minus some time allocated for sleeping. I think my problem is my method of studying. Hmm...I either skip subjects too fast, give up easily on one and move on to another only to do the same, or stick too long to it...either way nothing much goes into my head...yeah maybe I need to really use my head after all...but somehow I never liked memorising...doing questions is good yet I doubt there's enough time to do various types of questions unless u're really skilled in picking out the questions. So, finals in 4 more weeks? Yet, I'm still stuck...stuck in the midst of formulas, techniques, blurness...need to understand why and how to....help me....oh wait...noone can help me but myself...so Zhi Jun....help yourself quick... *emph*

I had only 2 hours of class + tutorial today. Yet, can still NOT study. Aiks! After EG tutorial, I went with Swee Yee to MPSH 1 to settle our tution grant thing. The whole process was pretty quick. Once it's ur turn...just sign 2 signatures that's all...if ur tutiton grant got no prob la. Hee... Anyway, midway through our time there, Swee Yee found that her matric card has gone missing. And, she quite clearly remember bringing it along. Well, we put the thought aside thinking maybe maybe she left it in the room. And, happily went for lunch in YIH... After lunch, when we came back, Swee Yee turned the room topsy turvy but still couldn't find her card. Then, me, Phea and Ee Hiang walked back to MPSH 1 to check along the way if her card dropped anywhere but couldn't see any traces of it. So, what to do, came back to the room, rummaged through my stuff also...to make sure I didn't "steal" it...couldn't find. Haih...

So, Swee Yee went to the student service center to report the lost card lor. And then she went stock up at Sing Shiong and went Queensway to buy sports shoes. Talking about sports shoes, my sports shoes is in terrible condition and now I know where what I learned in KH comes in handy...though I'm not a good sewer (urh....sounds like a drain)...what do u call a person who sews?? hmm...

The whole time she was out, me Phea, and Ee Hiang were stuck in first my room then Ee Hiang's room chatting. As though all of us are too free and got no work to do haha... Our main topic unsurprisingly is gossip and surprisingly....siblings?? hmm...haha...anyway watched a bit of last year's concert in Ee Hiang's room...urm...preferred this year's concert...especially the music...Chat til tea time...tea time also chat... Managed to slip a bit of study time in between tea and dinner though not much.

Night time go play badminton again. Haha...this time is kind of training la...so don't feel guilty of going...wakaka...Tmr morning also got...so should sleep now.

Oh ya...by the way....Swee Yee just announced to me that someone HAS already found her matric card and gave it back to student service center. So, she DID drop it....must careful ya next time...She'll be collecting it on Monday...so everyone need not worry!!!

Well I haven't blogged for quite some time. Maybe cos I was so busy this week. Wait...what was I busy with? Hmm...I don't know either...just felt like there was not much time for myself the 1st 3 days of the week. I know Monday I had lab which sucked like hell. Had no idea what to do and what to record in the experiment. Only after halfway through the report I notice that oh we need this and that and that....haih. Well...too bad for my lab marks la. It's PC lab by the way which I just found out today that my mid term results very cha. Hmm...well then Monday night had to go for Marketing group meeting...Starbucks...practiced our presentation for the next day. Which I am glad has finally come and gone. Hehe...presented for about 4 minutes the intro part of the "case study" and a sort of big burden was lifted off me. Glad we finally pulled through and got done with it. It was pretty scary at first cos before the class we found out that nobody had printed out our written case study. Ended up me and Madhu walked all the way to HSSM, fiddled with a few computers to print out that 8 page long thing. We were late for tutorial but thank God we weren't the first group to present. Yes...so now no need to worry of presentations...for the rest of the sem?

Yup then Wednesday got CS lab oso...so my whole 3 days were filled with classes and labs...luckily I'll be more free next week as there it's an even week and most of my tutorials are on odd weeks hee... It's time to catch up on studies. My mid term results have been either just scraped through the average marks or below average. So terribly bad. Makes me think over if I made the right choice coming to NUS. As Wei Jian said before, if we stay in Malaysia...there's a higher probability that we'll perform better there compared to here. So, which is more worth it, 1st class in Malaysia or averagely in NUS? Well, since I'm here already and time can't be turned back (even if it could...I'll most probably still end up here), I'll just have to do my best, look back at how I performed in mid terms, and work harder to make up for it. It does make u feel like u're really lagging and want to catch up... I'll just console myself that it IS after all the first test...(ok...maybe first test should perform well as it's supposed to be "easier")...well I can live with that...pick up from where I fall and MOVE ON.

Concert's finally over. I'm sure everyone is happy and satisfied with it. I think most of the work is done by the cast, costumes, sets and music ppl. Cast, they practice almost every night, I feel so lonely at night cos Swee Yee's always busy practising. And, costumes and sets also work almost every nite. That's y I so lonely cos can't even disturb Shu Lin. I think Shu Lin really put a lot of effort doing the costumes. One thing bout her...when she does something she'll do it properly...do her best. Think she was so tired yesterday that she didn't come for the debrief. Anyway ur head mentioned that u're very careful when doing costumes. Which sounds typically like u. Good job wei. Next time I need clothes, ask u sew liao haha. Everyone worked so so hard for this concert. Luckily it's just in 2 months right...if not, half a year...dunno can cope or not. =p Music ppl no need say la...no u no show, no Gail no filler, u guys damn talented. Seriously salute u. Composing ain't easy...ok my music sucks I know. Even though learnt piano but 0 talent haha. Learning and really knowing how is different. So, congrats everyone involved in concert! Move on now to studies... =p

Someone help me with this...I don't wanna play badminton til the next training liao. Been playing the past 3 nights...think it's finally taken it's toll on me...energy drained... :( Study study study... :)

Attended concert yesterday night. Fantastic show haha...the songs were good, singing good, dance good, acting good, story line urm normal....but overall good. Worth the time and money. Haha....so everyone haven't go wan...must go and watch tonight. It was about 2 hours show. It was great to finally see the final product...after so much sweat and effort put into it. But, the audience...they laugh at the wrong moments though. When it's supposed to be sad they laugh haha...so weird.

Ya anyway I think I overexhausted myself liao. Exercise too much hah. Last nite, played badminton after concert. Yeah I'm crazy I know. But, what to do....frens as crazy as me....tempt me. Then today morning also got badminton training. Wah...they should improve the ventilation in MPSH leh...step inside the court only feel so hot and sweaty. Then after finish playing....my clothes like just dipped into water...feel like can squeeze a pail of water out of it. Ah...actually tried but did not succeed haha...but it was very wet la... Then lunch I went to meet YC. We had planned to go Ginza d...js 2 of us. Mana tau YIH close then Phea, Alex, Jonathan, his sis Joanne (she's here to watch concert and bunking in my room) and Abhinav got nowhere to eat so tag along with me go haha. Brought them go tour Kent Ridge hall...YC dun mind rite? I noe u don't haha.... They all agreed that Raffles is much less confined haha....feel more free....how true. Oh ya...the stupid ISB come so ever 'often' so even when it comes it's always packed. Grrr...so we had to walk from here to Kent Ridge. Then makan at Ginza and shopping at Sing Shiong...really shop haha...nola js basic stuff. Then after that, walk back from Fong Seng to Raffles...gee....what a workout...zzz

Free! Free at last. PC1432 done yay. Free tonight....can play all night. Tomorrow the cycles starts again haha... must study seriously liao. Hehe...tonight played badminton until syiok. Yup for those who know I 'chao ai' badminton. Especially when I grew up and got astro and got ppl to play with me. Like my form 6 friends. I really appreciate the badminton sessions we had during Form 6....mostly during the break between STPM and uni. It really makes me light up haha....since I only played with my dad all the while... Now come to Raffles badminton sessions...ever so often haha...many of them share my passion in playing. Saturday nights mostly the target...cos then...it's so quiet so sien...so liven up the place a bit haha. Gotten used to playing in outdoor courts though. Cos used to only play in indoor courts haha. But outdoor courts traind u to adjust to the wind. I think the national badminton players trained at the beach side once haha... Yup. But the outdoor court ruined my new bought shoe. Not expensive shoe la but js bought before I came here. So sad...now got hole in my shoe...soon gonna be not a shoe if I dun do something about it. Any idea? Hmm....

So tmr is the concert day. Big day for the ppl directly involved. Like cast, sets, and costumes. Of course it's also a appreciation day for the music ppl since the whole chunk of performance is actually created out of their minds. Really tabik those ppl... Well hope it'll be a good show tmr which I'm quite confident it'll be. Jia you!

Finally got over and done with EG. Didn't do well though...as I expected. I dunno y I didn't have the mood to do last minute studying today. Maybe cos I know that I can't absorb anymore and I know that there's nothing more really that I could do to help me tackle today's questions. Well today had 5 questions only know 2...that also not sure whether right or wrong. Yeah seems very bad...but after this paper is over I feel surprisingly relaxed. Like a burden lifted off me. Now I only need to concentrate only on Physics. Which is not as tough as EG I hope...one reason cos it's objective and we have learned it before in Form 6. Though...I cannot say it'll be a breeze la...it's still gonna be tough...but at least hopefully much better than my EG. Well as they say, move on...don't dwell in the past. Looking forward to Thursday haha...so that I can finally stop studying. Oops...I mean start studying seriously haha...

Well...talked bout so much exams these days. Will change topic. This weekend is Raffles Hall concert. I think it's gonna be an amazing show. Everything is produced by us...well others mostly, not me. All the 2 months of hard work is gonna be displayed on Friday and Saturday night. I'm watching on Friday night. Can't wait haha...Those ppl really sacrificed a lot of time and sweat to produce this. So anyone interested to watch? Buy tickets buy buy buy. Oh concert t-shirt out too...beautiful colour. I love the shade of blue....haha...haven't got mine though...keep forgetting to bring money when I go for tea or dinner. Filodoksia...how ever did they come up with that name haha...interesting...

Tmr going to have EG1108 test. Spent the whole day flipping through books looking at examples. Then, from evening till nite, went to kitchenette to discuss with Phea. End up spend 1 hour plus to try and solve one question. Didn't manage to in the end. The book's answer must be wrong haha... Studied til night. Night time got lots of disturbance couldn't study also. First, got fundrasing meeting. I was to absorbed in 'studying' din notice the time oso...they had to call me to go haha. First time leh...norm I very early reach there so pai seh. Then, after that come back k....must study...then Chin Wee comes and ask for help to hang the tang lung as decor for block supper. Aiya...kesian him la...help la...help help til time for supper d...then makan...then now online. In between, managed to glimpse at some words in my book.

Actually, I have the formulas in my head already. I just dunno if I can SEE the circuits. How it goes...and how to solve it. There's just so many ways and mayb so many steps involved that I get mightily confused and blur on how to go about it. Hmm...so tmr test at 6pm...gambatte and c how la...though I most probably will get average marks or below average only...so -ve of me...but what to do...

Programming test over. Spent the whole day yesterday going thru the past year questions with Lee Hoong, Phea, and Yong Sheng in library. I find it better and helpful that we discuss especially CS cos if not we have no clue to what the heck the "program" is trying to do. But, yet today exam....cos of constraint of time, no time to think oso...programming need lots of logical thinking...but there wasn't anytime to think! So, it was like run thru, guess guess, shade....haha...dunno what the hell my score is gonna be like...damn.

Oh ya yesterday was a compulsory comm hall run for all the concert members. So we watched the rehearsal of the concert from 10.30 til bout 1 plus. Had supper at 1 plus...damn unhealthy man. Yet I still do it haha. The run was nice I suppose....but I think it's gonna be fantastic in the real show cos here we have lack of mikes and all...so couldn't really catch the story. So, good luck ppl for the concert...hope u all put on a great show.

Ahh....just now js came back from badminton training in MPSH. The hall there damn hot...sweat like a piggy. Enjoyed playing though. Well of course I did haha...though I still suck badly. Tonight I'm gonna be so damn tired...will sleep whole nite...no no...cannot...must study!!! Ahhh....2 more to go.... =p

So much to do so little time yet I still got time to blog. I can't help fiddling with the computer everytime I leave it on. Sometimes prefer to shut it down when I REALLY need to study. Well, but had to use it to do my programming. It's giving me a splitting headache. To tell the truth, I don't have the mood to do this lab cos there's so much more important stuff to do. Like studying for my tests. So, I couldn't really think about the solutions for this lab and got the workings and all from here and there...yet still can't complete it. It's just a minor part and it's causing the delay. Can't figure out the problem yet. One thing about programming is that one little thing can cause ur whole program to come to a stop...can't run...can't compile etc. But, another thing is that once u find out where the problem is u can't help but leap for joy only to stumble over another bump. Though the process is damn frustrating, it somehow provides a kind of satisfaction when ur program FINALLY can run. But, that's the end result...the in-between process...*sweat*

In this 1 week, I got a lot of things to settle. I urgently need to reorganise my studying habits. Maybe it's too late I dunno...but I haven't been doing it right and really ought to. Now, I'm like randomly studying. Seriously...I think I can't wait for mid terms to be over so that I can start all over again...like begin a new life...organise and prioritise...I hope that everything will turn out well. No...I want everything to turn out well...so I must make that happen. Gambatte!

Had my first test in NUS tonight. Oops...2nd if u count QET. Anyway it was Maths. 10 MCQ questions in one hour. Not much time for 1 question. So how was it? Not bad....sure pass with flying colours....naaahhh js kidding. It wasn't good. Think I may only get half the answers right...well...that's if I assume no careless mistakes. Cos I hentam-ed almost half the paper. Haih...just couldn't get it right...well did my best...but I guess my best is not enough. :( Well one down, 3 to go... The other 3 I think are in worse condition cos I haven't really exactly finished studying. To say I still have time it's not all true...I'm not astromax haha...Still can recall the Indian man there going "I've got time" haha. Cos in between still got so much stuff to settle...marketing group presentation, CS lab (which I have no clue how to start on it damn), badminton training, hmm...activity does NOT come to a halt at NUS when exams come by. Except mayb at the finals. Even now u can see...ok mayb feel the atmosphere of mugging around. I can't imagine what it'll be like when it comes to finals...betcha everyone will be have their faces glued to the books...well that kinda makes it hard to read doesn't it? Well...u get my meaning... Mayb I will be like that to....note...I used mayb....can't cure myself...
