My Story

So, I've been in Singapore for almost 2 weeks nw... Mostly orientation and outings. To say I'm fitting in and not feeling homesick is an outright lie. My first week here, I joined the Malaysian Student League activities and took the QET test. Then, right after the test I went back home, Klang la of course. Damn homesick in the first week. I think it's contagious though. =p

The 2nd week is still alright. Although just came here for 3 days only. My hall, Raffles have started their orientation. So, for the last 2 nights I've been only sleeping at 1 or 2am plus. These ppl nvr sleep... The hall orientation ends at about 11.30pm...then thought can go back zzz but block pulak got orientation. So end up 2 am only finish. It might sound early to u all, but for me it's very late d. Hehe...hope I don't adjust to it so quickly...cos I don't want to be nocturnal...

So far, academic stuff haven't started so I can't comment on the 'stress' faced. I have been having fun only the past few days. Feels like a vacation hehe...I must sometimes kick myself and remind myself to remember what I'm here for....sometimes...

Well 3 more days to go in Malaysia. Haven't done much packing....hmm. Lots to pack especially all the various forms we have to fill and print out and bring. Headache betul... Don't even noe if my medical report form is correct or not. Today got a letter from NUS and this letter states that international students have to fill an additional form which is the only one I filled and brought to d doc. Gee...wonder if the other is really necessary or...blur d....

Yeah finally got my laptop. Bought an Asus: Intel Core Duo processor, 2GB RAM, 80GB HDD, 14 inch screen. Price is RM2879. Not bad la. I went to the shop still undecided on Acer or Asus. But then the earlier models I saw were missing d. Think someone bought it liao. So left this model of Asus so my choice was made for me luckily...if not....I'll have another headache.

Yesterday, was my cousin's wedding day. So early morning around 7am started for his house in PJ. We followed the wedding car (an Estima!) to the bride's house. We were following closely till at one the last point turning into the taman we went wrong road. Hmm....so did not get to horn... :( At the bride's house, the other side 'played' my cousin and his friends lo...the usual ritual...before letting him into the room where the bride is. Then the tea ceremony began....and carried on for quite a long time. I was bz eating the kuih outside haha...

Oh...and I found a new relative haha...wait actually I got a lot of relatives yesterday la. But, this girl was my ex-schoolmate when I was in Std 3. I noticed her in the bride's house. Was staring at her....thinking she looks sooo familiar. Then, finally recalled...Dang....Ding....yeah....Ding Ying Fei. But still no confidence that it was her. Later I saw her elder sis as well. Confirm it's her la... Hehe...build up some courage to go and acknowledge her. She remembered me as well...luckily. They're actually my cousin's bride's cousin. And, I'm my cousin's cousin. Well...of course. So, that makes us related. What a coincidence!

After the bride's house, we went back to my cousin's house. Ceremony here compared to the bride's house much simpler and shorter. Some quick pictures in the room and then the tea ceremony then makan haha. So much food ta pau-ed as well hehe... Hey Malaysian culture ma.

In the afternoon, came back home to rest for a while before the dinner. Wasn't much of a rest either. Planned to watch the Thai open but got a visit from my parent's friend. Also, Ching asked me to help her daftar her UPM kursus as well. So, by the time settled those, bathed, have to 'ta pan' for the dinner liao. In case u're wondering...yes I wore a dress to the dinner. Purple colour simple dress. Will put my photo on friendster when I have the time and patience....

Dinner was well....dinner. The normal 8 course Chinese dinner we usually have. Cameras go flash click boom.... Was held in Bukit Jalil Golf and Country club anyway. 3 other weddings were going on as well. Can't imagine what 7/7/07 would have been like with the concert goin on around there as well... It would have been madness.

Yeah so congrats to Ah Min and your lovely wife. May you both live happily ever after!

I am so confused now. Went to a computer shop in Bukit Tinggi yesterday to buy laptop. The ppl there were quite friendly-providing plenty of information on the specifications of the laptops there. He was only selling 3 brands: Toshiba, Acer and Asus. I was set on Acer but then the person there kind of put it down saying got lots of problems after a few years and it's made of plastic and all sorts. He was pushing me to buy a Toshiba (Japan product). The specs- Intel Core Duo processor, 2GB RAM, quite wide screen for RM2799. I didn't like it at first because it was rather big and heavy. There's another one smaller in size with free webcam for RM500 more. Okay...so after few hours there thinking of ahich to buy i decided ok get the Toshiba. Then only the fella said this is the last piece... :( For both the laptops...it was the showroom pieces!! I don't want a showroom piece. Hmm...so I said will think it over first la. Haih...so now still have to crack my head. Asus?? Acer?? Or Dell?? Hehe... And then, genuine windows?? Or not?? So many questions...so little time...my own fault. But, looks like I'll be getting the Asus or go other place to buy. See how la...still got at least 7 days to think haha. Actually, not so many days la...make up your mind!!! Aargh...

Finally got around to going to the bank to sign the loan form in front of the bank officer yesterday. I hope my loan gets approved...cos my form is sooo messy. Filled my name accidentally instead of filling the name of the officer who's supposed to approve my loan. Not my fault though...the officer there pointed to the wrong place. And then, there's one part her chop couldn't be seen on the carbon copy so I asked her to chop again, she signed as well. Gosh...later go sg they siad my form not valid then susah la. Have to mail the form back n forth. Hmm...

Then, at night went Klang Parade again. Think that's like my 4th visit this week haha... Scouted for shoes to wear on the day of my cousin's wedding. Found one I quite liked but they didn't have my colour and size. Common feet size I have?? I dunno...so tak jadi buy lo. Then, wanted to buy laptop too but noone choi me oso so dun wanna give them business la. Ai...laptop ah laptop....where can I find the perfect one.... :(

Went to Klang Parade with Shu Lin today. Motive: Shopping lo what else. Actually more like teman Shu Lin buy clothes la...cos we need to stock up for our 'trip' (or should I say journey...) to Singapore. Well she managed to buy a few tee-s n a shorts la. Me js one t-shirt lo. We like pakai hentam only scout the whole shopping complex. Anything quite ngam js pick it up haha. No sense of fashion ppl like dat lo...

Oh....today's weather is super hot...effects of the haze?? I wonder... Even at home I'm sweating like a piggy. I'm sticky all over...gosh should I bathe or should I not. Better go n pick a sunflower n start plucking its petals....

Exactly 14 days before I leave for Singapore. I'm going to NUS to study computer engineering. Actually the orientation week only starts in August...but I need to go there early cos of some English test that we have to take on the 19th of July. Since I js stopped working, I haven't prepared anything yet haha... so this 2 weeks gotta rush rush pack everything. Quite excited la going to a new place, new environment....but also a bit scared and need to go back to studying... Die die....my brain wasn't utilised for 6 months plus d....nw must go polish back haha.

So will be busy this 2 weeks...summore my cousin getting married this Sunday. All d weekends gone....flying past so quickly. Haven't even got a laptop. Hope to get it soon....actually I dilly dally myself til haven't get. Js can't picture myself spending so much on it. Hehe....but I guess it's quite a neccessity...so should get.
